With moving day fast approaching, Divisions Maintenance Group is sharing a first look at the inside of its new headquarters.

The design for the new space at The Foundry in downtown Cincinnati draws on DMG’s reputation and history. DMG provides interior and exterior facility maintenance services for tens of thousands of sites across the country. The company’s work, covering any service a customer needs, is essential. It takes grit and determination, and those values are incorporated into the design.

“It’s about energy,” said Amanda Searfoss, a senior design manager for Luminaut, the Cincinnati-based architecture and design firm partnering with DMG. “DMG is big. They’re loud. They make a statement. We want that spirit to come through in the space anyone who walks into the new HQ will feel the energy and excitement of what DMG does every day.”

Employees will start moving into the new HQ in June. Below are eight renderings of the space:

Fifth Street Café

This café is on the second floor of the building, looking out toward Carew Tower. This is the smallest of DMG’s three employee cafés, featuring space for dining as well as flex space for employees to work or meet.

The old Macy's escalator

The Foundry building used to be home to a flagship Macy’s store. Rather than filling in the hole that used to house the Macy’s escalator, DMG and Luminaut turned it into a focal point of the design, featuring a large, floating staircase with stadium seating. This view is from the second floor, showing the staircase winding up to the third.

The central core

This view shows the top of the floating staircase as it reaches the third floor. Here, the custom lighting fixture depicts the eye of the storm, a nod to DMG’s work in intense weather snow removal after storms, for example, and disaster relief after hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and fires.

Third floor lobby

This is the view that will greet employees and guests when they step off the elevators on the third floor. Along the wall are glass-lined rooms for employees to host customer meetings and calls.

This photo shows the space that will be visible from Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati, looking up into DMG’s windows. It’s a café for employees on the third floor of the building, with a bold design in DMG blue blue floors, blue walls, blue ceiling, blue furniture.

Race Street Café

This is the largest of DMG’s employee cafés, featuring large tables as well as banquette seating.

Employee workstation

This area includes a mix of huddle rooms, call rooms and private office spaces available for booking. Each desk is adjustable for sitting or standing, and each work area is bookended by lounge furniture for breaks, impromptu meetings or more informal gatherings.

The fourth floor

The top floor of the building at least for now, as DMG does have the option to expand upward is all about fun and relaxation. There’s a bar, arcade games and plenty of comfy furniture. DMG is also partnering with ArtWorks to create a custom mural on this floor highlighting DMG’s history in the region.

……….

DMG was founded in 1999 and is currently headquartered in Newport, Kentucky. But growth has been so rapid that DMG’s local employees are split into three different buildings in Newport and Cincinnati.

“That’s part of why this new HQ is so huge for us,” said DMG Employee Engagement Manager Jalan Nored. “Yes, we are moving into one of the most iconic buildings in Cincinnati, but more importantly, we will all be back together under one roof.

“One of our mantras as a company is ‘As One.’ We work together, As One, for our customers, our facility maintenance providers and each other. In The Foundry, all working together from one central hub, that teamwork and collaboration is only going to grow.”
